This project upgraded the level of life safety on two floors of an existing long-term residence for the developmentally disabled. Existing fire partitions and smoke barriers were repaired or replaced throughout and the existing HVAC distribution systems were completely upgraded. The work was phased to allow continuous use of the facility. According to the caregivers, the health of the residents has improved noticeably since the air distribution systems were upgraded. The project was designed to be compliant with NYS OPWDD standards and guidelines.
